Banater Akten |
|
In the Finanz und
Hofkammerarchiv (HKA) [Finance and Court Chamber Archive] in
Vienna can be found over 1600 pages of documents from the period
1749-1804 which are designated Banater Akten. They include the
Wiener Listen [Vienna Lists] or Wiener Abfertigungslisten
[Vienna Passenger Lists]. These are consignments of colonists
who emigrated through Hungary, not only into the Banat. The
documents list surname, given name, occupation, place of origin,
age, number of children and destination and constitute one of
the most important sources for Donauschwaben research.
