Referred to
for "lookups" --Lookup Informants
provide a labor of
love when helping
you find missing
pieces of your
family puzzle that
eludes you. "But
what is a lookup and
what can I expect in
the results?"
Listed in the
right-hand column
are the various and
diverse Danube
Swabian reference
materials available
to the DS
researcher. |
IMPORTANT:
Many people today
have some sort of spam blocking capabilities set up for
their email. This could either be through a stand-alone
application on the computer or the ISP may have one set
up for their customers (sometimes unknown to their
customers). Upon receipt of an e-mail from someone not
already in an "address book" some of these applications
will send out an e-mail for the correspondent to click
on a link in the e-mail in order to get the message
through. Please be advised that many of our volunteers
will not do this. The volunteer may have tried to
contact you but could not. If you have such a filter on
your incoming e-mail you may have to lower your
threshold of blockage and try again.

Please be
specific with your request.
The books
are written in German and sometimes difficult to read,
therefore realize the informants are not professional
genealogist and are still prone to making mistakes.
While
your information is provided to you freely, some Lookup
Informants are offered payment for time consumed in
extensive searches, which is in the way of a genealogy
service.
The
Informants are here to help you, so please don't take
advantage of their time and generosity.
If you
request photo copies of the pages, volunteer the cost of
copying and postage.
