General Volunteer
Look-ups
This section is for the
miscellaneous lookups which is non-region specific.
[ie.: Germans & Hungarians: 1828 Land Census /
Stader Books]
For region specific information or individual village
request, go to that regions finding aids section.
Please read:
Our Request
Manners &
Explanations
of the various reference books available for lookups.
Note: in subject line of email, please enter the village
name
- example: Billed look-up request
IMPORTANT: Many people today
have some sort of spam blocking capabilities set up for
their email. This could either be through a stand-alone
application on the computer or the ISP may have one set
up for their customers (sometimes unknown to their
customers). Upon receipt of an e-mail from someone not
already in an "address book" some of these applications
will send out an e-mail for the correspondent to click
on a link in the e-mail in order to get the message
through. Please be advised that many of our volunteers
will not do this. The volunteer may have tried to
contact you but could not. If you have such a filter on
your incoming e-mail you may have to lower your
threshold of blockage and try again.

This is where
the earliest "Donauschwabans" immigrated and
settled before the "Three Great
Immigrations" began starting with the
Caroline (1718-1737), Maria Theresian
(1744-1772) and Josephinische (1772-1787).
These early settlers immigrated into Hungary
circa 1695, purchased land and settled the
area. The 2nd generation of the initial
settlers began to immigrate into the Banat
and once there were responsible in the
creation of over 50 or more towns.
