The title is German, but the text is written in English. It is a novel about the Danube Swabian people from the time of their migration in the 17th, 18th, and 19th century from Germany and why they ventured to the Austrian-Habsburg Emperor's Empire. It features twenty-four black and white pictures by "Stefan Jäger," the famous Danube Swabian artist, depicting this migration and their lives in the new homelands.
