President of the Mansfield Liederkranz
was happy to hear that the
DVHH will be a part of this year's Treffen; of which the
DVHH booth will be in the same location as in 2007 and that we were a great hit
with the Liederkranz members as well as visitors. Herr Hunsinger said this year is a
competition year and they expect a much larger crowd than the last time.

Tanzwettbewerb
means that there is a competition between all the groups that go the
Trachtenfest. Every city is allowed 15 minutes
of song, dance, speaking in German, poems, their
trachts, etc. Whoever has the most points will
win what is called the “Awender Cultural Prize”
which is first place.
Additional information and
hotel accommodations will be posted in the near future.
Mark your calendars and plan to
attend this Labor day weekend Sept 2-4th. The friendship meet and
greet will be Friday, Sept 2nd in the evening; and Sat and Sun events begin at
10 am. Come out and join the fun and have a taste of your ancestors
traditions. Experience Donauschwaben food, music and dancing. Meet
fellow family researchers, you may even find a new cousin!
The DVHH booth will be open
only Saturday, so please stop by to meet our representatives and don't forget to
sign our guest book.
