Lord, set boundaries to the abundance
And make the boundaries superfluous.
Let the people make no false money
And the money no false people.
 
Take the last word away from the wives
And remind the husbands of their first.
Give more truth to our friends
And more friends to the truth.
 
Give the government a better German
And the Germans a better government.
Lord, see to it
That we all get to heaven,
But not just yet!
